Reading in Italian

Leggere

  1.  Look at who is writing the story.
  2. Look at the title and determine what you think the story will be about.
  3. Read the questions before you read the story.
  4. When you read underline the words you know.
  5. Look for cognates.
  6. Look at the pictures to help you identify what is going on.
  7. Say the word out loud to help you recognize it.
  8. Read it more than once.
  9.  Use the word bank at the end of every chapter.
  10. Use a dictionay for words you don’t understand.
  11. If there are too many characters in the story keep a list of them. Write their names, who they are in the story, and a specific fact about them.
  12. Circle the verb in every sentence.
  13. Keep a list of new vocabulary words in the back of your notebook and review them every night.
